TCM Menstrual, Fertility & Menopause

Women’s health evolves across different life stages, from the onset of menstruation and fertility years to pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and finally menopause. Each stage brings its own set of physical, hormonal, and emotional challenges that can impact quality of life.

At Regis Wellness TCM Clinic, we provide safe, natural, and effective TCM treatments for women’s health in Singapore. Our holistic approach is rooted in centuries of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) wisdom, supported by modern clinical experience. Whether you are seeking relief from painful menstrual cramps, looking for natural fertility support, or managing hot flashes during menopause, our TCMPB-registered practitioners create personalised treatment plans to restore balance and well-being.

Women’s Health Challenges in Singapore

In Singapore, many women experience health issues linked to today’s fast-paced lifestyle and demanding work culture. Long hours, high stress, and irregular sleep can disrupt hormonal balance, leading to problems such as irregular periods, period cramp/pain, fatigue, and fertility challenges. Rising rates of infertility, PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), and endometriosis are becoming more common among younger women, while stress-related conditions often worsen menstrual and menopausal symptoms.

At the same time, Singapore’s ageing female population is also facing menopause-related concerns such as hot flashes, sleep disturbances, and bone health issues. With more women seeking natural and holistic healthcare options, TCM has become an increasingly popular choice to manage these challenges safely, without relying solely on medication or hormone therapy.

How TCM Supports Women’s Health

In TCM theory, a woman’s health is closely tied to the balance of Qi (vital energy), Blood, Yin and Yang. When these elements are disrupted due to stress, lifestyle, or natural hormonal changes, it can manifest as pain, fatigue, mood changes, or reproductive issues.

Our TCM therapies aim to:

  • Regulate hormones naturally without drugs or invasive procedures
  • Improve blood flow to reproductive organs and vital systems
  • Relieve physical pain such as cramps, backaches, and joint stiffness
  • Ease emotional imbalances including stress, anxiety, and mood swings
  • Strengthen immunity and energy for overall vitality

Unlike conventional treatments that often focus only on symptoms, TCM addresses the root cause to restore long-term balance and prevent future health issues.

TCM for Menstrual Health

Menstrual problems are common among women of all ages, but they don’t have to be endured. TCM provides natural solutions to regulate cycles and ease monthly discomfort.

Conditions we treat include:

  • Menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea)
  • Irregular or delayed cycles
  • Heavy or prolonged bleeding
  • Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) with mood swings, bloating, headaches, or fatigue

How TCM helps:

  • Acupuncture reduces uterine cramping and regulates hormone function
  • Herbal medicine nourishes Blood, supports Qi flow, and restores regular cycles
  • Moxibustion and cupping ease abdominal tension, reduce pain, and improve circulation

By restoring balance, women experience more regular cycles, reduced pain, and improved energy levels.

TCM for Fertility Support

Many couples in Singapore turn to TCM fertility treatments either as a natural first step or alongside assisted reproductive technologies such as IVF or IUI.

Benefits of TCM fertility care include:

  • Regulating menstrual cycles and promoting healthy ovulation
  • Enhancing uterine lining thickness and receptivity
  • Improving egg quality and blood supply to reproductive organs
  • Reducing stress and anxiety that can affect conception
  • Supporting hormonal balance for improved fertility outcomes

At Regis Wellness, our fertility support programmes combine acupuncture, moxibustion, herbal medicine, and lifestyle guidance to improve the chances of natural conception and complement conventional fertility treatments.

TCM for Menopause Management

Menopause is a natural stage of life, but its symptoms can be uncomfortable and disruptive. TCM offers a gentle, drug-free approach to managing menopause by rebalancing Yin and Yang and nourishing organ systems.

Common menopause symptoms treated with TCM:

  • Hot flashes and night sweats
  • Sleep disturbances and insomnia
  • Mood swings, irritability, or low mood
  • Fatigue and low energy
  • Vaginal dryness and discomfort

How TCM helps:

  • Acupuncture calms the nervous system, reduces hot flashes, and promotes restful sleep
  • Herbal medicine nourishes Yin, eases dryness, and supports hormonal stability
  • Moxibustion boost circulation, vitality, and emotional balance

Many women find TCM to be a natural alternative to HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy), with fewer risks and side effects.

General Enquiry

Is TCM safe for women during pregnancy?
Yes. When provided by TCMPB-registered physicians, TCM therapies such as gentle acupuncture and carefully selected herbal medicine are safe during pregnancy. They are often used to ease morning sickness, fatigue, back pain, and emotional stress.
How many sessions will I need for fertility support?
Every woman’s body is different. Some notice improvements in menstrual regularity, energy, and mood within a few weeks. For fertility-focused care, a consistent treatment plan over 3–6 months is often recommended to improve ovulation, egg quality, and uterine health.
Can TCM replace hormone therapy for menopause?
For many women, yes. TCM offers a safe, natural alternative to HRT by:
  • Reducing hot flashes and night sweats
  • Improving sleep quality
  • Boosting energy and mood stability
  • Nourishing Yin and restoring hormonal balance
This approach supports long-term well-being without the risks of synthetic hormones.
What’s the difference between TCM and Western medicine for women’s health?
  • Western medicine – often focuses on managing symptoms with medication or surgery.
  • TCM – addresses the root cause of imbalances in Qi, Blood, Yin, and Yang, helping the body regulate itself naturally.
Many women choose a combined approach, where TCM complements Western treatments.
Can TCM help with menstrual cramps and PMS?
Yes. Acupuncture, herbal medicine, and moxibustion are highly effective for:
  • Reducing uterine cramping and pelvic pain
  • Regulating menstrual cycles
  • Easing PMS symptoms such as bloating, mood swings, and fatigue
Does TCM support postpartum recovery?
Yes. TCM helps new mothers recover by replenishing Qi and Blood, strengthening the body, supporting lactation, and improving sleep. Herbal prescriptions and gentle acupuncture can also help manage postpartum fatigue, hair loss, or mood imbalances.
Can young girls benefit from TCM for early menstrual issues?
Results vary depending on individual conditions, but many mothers report feeling better after a few sessions. Consistent therapy over a few weeks to months is often recommended for comprehensive recovery.
Does TCM help with hormonal conditions like PCOS or endometriosis?
Yes. TCM regulates cycles, reduces pelvic inflammation, improves ovulation, and eases symptoms such as pain, acne, and fatigue. Many women with PCOS or endometriosis find TCM an effective long-term management option.
