What is Deep Tissue Massage?
Deep Tissue Massage is a therapeutic approach targeting deeper layers of muscles and tendons to relieve pain, stiffness, and injuries. By applying slow, deep, and controlled pressure, this technique effectively manages chronic pain, muscle knots, and sports injuries.
Suitable for athletes, bodybuilders, and office workers, it alleviates tension from prolonged sitting or poor posture. Whether you're physically active or have a sedentary lifestyle, this massage helps restore comfort and mobility. To ensure a smooth experience, our therapists use lotion or cream during the session.
How Does Deep Tissue Massage Work?
Deep Tissue Massage targets the deeper layers of your muscle to relieve and treat muscle and tendon pain, stiffness, and injuries.
Deep Tissue Massage is different from other more relaxing massages. During your deep tissue massage therapy, our therapists will apply substantial amount of deep, slow, long pressure to press into the deeper layer of your muscle or tendon. Lotion and cream will be used during your deep tissue massage
What to Expect During Your Session
1. Initial Consultation and Objective assessment (10 - 15 minutes) - Each session begins with a consultation to understand your specific needs and an objective assessment to find out what is contributing to your symptoms. Based on the information we can then craft a personalised treatment plan.
2. Pain Management & Recovery Therapies (10 - 15 minutes) - Depending on the information and presentation during the session, tailored manual therapy (e.g. trigger point release, soft tissue release) and/or modality (e.g. ultrasound, TENS, medicated heat packs) sessions may be employed to address pain, injuries, flare-ups or post-exercise recovery, promoting healing and reducing pain.
3. Exercise Therapy (10-15 minutes) - After a treatment session, our physiotherapists will guide you through strengthening exercises, stretching, and offer advice on recovery and management. These are designed to help improve mobility and prevent future injuries and will be done collaboratively so they will be tailored to your specific needs.

Deep tissue massage can effectively reduce swelling, improve circulation, and accelerate healing of acute pain/injuries such as Back Pain, Neck Pain, Knee Pain, Post-Surgical Pain, etc.

Chronic musculoskeletal pain
Free yourself from persistent muscle tension and discomfort. Relieve tightness and improve flexibility for Fibromyalgia, Chronic Back Pain, Tendonitis, etc

Deep tissue massage promotes circulation and joint flexibility, easing stiffness and discomfort caused by arthritis-related conditions, including Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis

Sport injuries (Golf/Tennis/Running/Cycling)
Deep tissue massage enhances muscle function, reduces the risk of injuries, and supports faster recovery for sports injuries such as Tennis Elbow, Golfer's Elbow, Runner's Knee, etc.

Do communicate with our physiotherapists about the pain level during your deep tissue massage for the best treatment experience.
