What is Post-Surgical Rehabilitation?
Post-Surgical Rehabilitation is the process of restoring one’s movement, strength, and mobility after their surgery, with the ultimate goal of helping them get back to their normal daily activities.
After a major surgery, particularly one involving the musculoskeletal system, your function and mobility will be lost. Rehab helps you regain all that was lost.
How Does Post-Surgical Rehabilitation Work?
Post-surgical rehabilitation helps you reduce the chances of developing secondary complications, relieve post-surgical pain, and regain your strength and mobility.
At Regis Wellness Physiotherapy clinic, we will assess your conditions and prepare a detailed plan to help you recover to your best state. Our post-surgical rehabs will include various exercises, strength and conditioning, stretching, functional assessment, and management of your post-surgical pain.
Benefits of Post-Surgical Rehabilitation

- Stimulate Recovery - Supports the body’s natural healing process to encourage faster and more effective recovery after surgery.
- Reduce Scar Tissue Formation - Minimises excessive scar tissue build-up to improve movement and reduce long-term stiffness.
- Relieve Muscle Stiffness - Eases tightness in surrounding muscles to restore comfort and improve function.

Why Choose Regis Wellness for Post-Surgical Rehabilitation

Post-surgical recovery often involves pain, swelling, stiffness, and restricted circulation. TCM can support the physiotherapy rehabilitation process at Regis Wellness, using acupuncture to reduce post-operative inflammation, moxibustion to promote tissue healing and circulation, and herbal medicine to support recovery from within. For patients who want to complement their physiotherapy programme with TCM, both practitioners are under the same roof and can coordinate your care.
Post-surgical timelines are unpredictable. Some patients progress quickly; others need longer based on surgical complexity, age, or pre-existing conditions. We charge per session with no upfront package commitments. You pay for the sessions you attend, nothing more. If your surgeon approves an earlier discharge from rehab, you stop early. If you need more, you continue at your own pace.
Our Physiotherapists are registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) under Singapore's Ministry of Health. Special interests include musculoskeletal conditions, sports medicine, and racket sports rehabilitation. All electrotherapy is administered by a qualified and registered physiotherapists, not support staff.
Post-surgical recovery is a vulnerable period. Our clinic is designed for unhurried, private sessions in quiet treatment rooms, away from the clinical environment of a hospital. Many patients find the transition from hospital to Regis Wellness a meaningful part of their psychological recovery as well as their physical one.
