What is TCM Gua Sha Scraping

Gua Sha Scraping is a form of natural traditional Chinese medicine technique. It is a form of alternative medicine that helps with blood circulation, pain management, relieve muscle tension, and better overall well-being.

How Does TCM Gua Sha Scraping Work

Similar to Acupuncture, Gua Sha clears the blockage and restores the balance and flow of Qi (气) within your body. It also reduces inflammation and relieves muscle tension on your joints and muscles. Once your Qi (气) is balanced, it stimulates and restores your body’s natural painkillers and healing functions.

TCM Gua Sha involves the scraping or rolling of your skin using a smooth-edged tool, usually made of jade, amethyst, or stainless steel. We use different tools for different body parts and muscle. Gua Sha is typically done on the back, arms, legs, neck, and shoulder. There is also facial Gua Sha for beauty and lymphatic drainage purposes.

Sometimes oil may also be applied during your Gua Sha therapy.
